What is Geolokit?

geoloGather and visualise geological data, apply spatial – temporal analysis, create and share interactive maps for further geosciences investigations,… all these purposes are Geolokit’s playground.
Geolokit is a new open-source, freeware and lightweight GIS software. It is written in Python, a high-level cross-platform programming language. Geolokit is accessible through a graphical user interface, designed to run in parallel with Google Earth . It is a user-friendly toolbox that allows ‘geo-users’ to import their raw data (e.g. GPS, sample locations, structural data, field pictures, maps), to use fast data analysis tools and to plot these one into Google Earth environment using KML code. This workflow requires no need of any third party software, except Google Earth itself.
